2nd Annual 2009 White Thang Festival, Athens Alabama

"Whitestock"

       There is a strange gathering that takes place in the rolling hills of Alabama every year that just can't be explained. A weird gathering of weird people doing unimaginable things. A gathering of Musicians, Doctors, Lawyers, Bus Drivers, Postal Workers, Factory Workers, Laborers, Computer Nerds, Pool People, Housewives, and a variety of other professions. There is an abundance of live music, a small amount of drinking, dancing, stupidity, nonsense, and just plain fun.
       They are all awaiting the arrival of White Thang, a mystical creature that roams the hills and woods of Alabama. While scaring the hell out of it's onlookers, a 7 foot tall hairy manlike Thang walks with a slow gate and has slow moving waving arms as it walks. Spotted at the first Festival by several people, White Thang has become a legend in it's own right to all who have witnessed this oddity of the hills. There are a lot of skeptics, but the eye witnesses have this creature etched in their minds forever. And as scared as they were, they have a very strange desire to see it again.
